Sage Talisman

Crafted from the leaves of the organic herb in my apothecary garden, the Sage is a long standing wisdom keeper and revered in folklore for its life enhancing properties. There is a reason we call someone with great wisdom a 'sage' - this plant really does live up to its name. Its potency is well known in both clinical herbal medicine and in folklore.
 
There are over 750 varieties of Sage but this one is Salvia officinalis, known as common sage although don't be fooled by its name - its properties are quite incredible. It is an anti-sudorific, which means that it has the ability to reduce sweating, and this is why clinical herbalists prescribe it to help reduce hot flushes in menopausal women. I can attest that I self prescribed this during my own menopause, and still use it in many of my tea blends, as it is extremely effective.
 
It is however also a powerhouse for cleansing spaces - I have found the Salvia plant that I have used for these talismen to be extremely good for clearing auric layers, spaces and land. In sick rooms, it is invaluable and it is one of the ingredients in my Plague Doctor smudge mix and space spray. 
 
My Sage talismen communicate that they are intended to help in both manifestation and wish fulfillment. BUT this is balanced by its wisdom and may also teach you this when working with it for these purposes. They are also working with your personal confidence and energy - I have found that while they are beautiful to look at, delicate in construction and a joy to wear, they have a gentle strength and seem to empower confidence when worn. Whenever I have worn my own, it gets many compliments - but there is also something about the manner of the compliment; a captivation, a curiosity, an intruigment. The complimenter seems to have unconscious awareness that the talisman is not just a piece of body adornment but can't quite put their finger on what it is about it. Each talisman hangs on a natural, adjustable cord (except No.5 - please see details below) and is adorned with a Maple wood bead. I chose Maple because for some bizarre reason lots of people don't like them very much and consider them to be rather boring trees. I think this is because they are quite common - often we take things for granted that we see all around us - but I think it is also because their gifts are not obvious. Maples don't have big showy flowers or juicy colourful berries. There are many Maples and they generally have small flowers in Spring and you will know their fruits in Autumn - they look like helicopter seeds. But their other gifts can only be found for those who are preared to look upward and inward.
 
Maple leaves turn the most incredible colours in Autumn, filling the air with hues of red and gold, and to walk among falling Maple leaves is just lovely. Inwardly, there is syrup from the Sugar and Red Maples, to my mind one of the most beautiful sweet things on this Earth - true nectar of the Tree gods. Some can see the beauty, gifts and magic and some won't. The story of Maple is another little secret my talismen hold.

The pieces in this listing are varied in thickness and length. Please note they are not waterproof - they are intended for personal adornment, indoor altar offering, indoor ceremonial and ritual work. They ofcourse can be used outdoors if the weather is favourable.
